If there's a will, there's a way

Have you ever experienced one of those "By jove, I think I've got it" moments? I had one today.

I was privileged to see some artwork that just floored me. Artwork so good that I cannot comprehend why the artist is not famous.

I'm not talking about some new technique or medium, in fact he works with one of the oldest mediums known to man... wood.

This artist is not your average wood carver, he is a genuine craftsman like I've never before witnessed. He doesn't make little wood sculptures or wood nut crackers, but full size replicas of machinery.

Take a look at the following pictures and you'll see what I mean. He has no web site, no gallery, no email. Just some of the best wood artwork you or I have ever seen, and stored in his workshop. He doesn't even know what to charge if someone wanted to buy one of his pieces.

The artist explained to me that all of his pieces are constructed of wood and glue only. He makes every piece in his shop. There are no screws, nails or other non-wood or glue fastening methods in any of his works.

This is a full sized chopper over 6 feet long. This piece took the artist just over 9 months of daily work to complete. Even the spark plug wires are wood.

Check the "archives" in the right column for more of this artist's work including a full sized wood 1909 Harley and a full sized Model T or his beautiful carousel horse.

Notice the working chain - incredible detail and workmanship.

Even the exhaust pipe is detailed to the point of being hollow.

More from the same artist

Replica of 1909 Harley

Remember - ALL pieces are wood.

And oh my my my - a full size Model T

This same gentleman is also working on a full size - not scale, all wood Model T Ford. I would imagine that this project will take several years to complete. However the chassis, transmission and engine are nearly complete.

One last thing from this master of wood

He also creates full sized all wood carousel horses.
